Greetings,
We're happy to announce that Site24x7 has extended its monitoring support to include Telemetry API in the Site24x7-AWS Lambda Extension integrated monitor. This provides deeper insights into the Lambda function ecosystem by analyzing log and metric information. The Lambda Telemetry API creates extensions that can access telemetry streams directly from the Lambda execution environment.
With this enhancement, your organization benefits from reduced costs because Site24x7 can then fetch logs and metrics, error logs and metrics, and capture diagnostic information more efficiently. You can directly plug the AWS Lambda extension into Site24x7 without complex configurations.
The logs and metrics are obtained directly from Lambda functions rather than CloudWatch logs, and are then pushed into Site24x7 AppLogs for further diagnosis.
How it works
The Lambda extension runs as a companion process outside the Lambda runtime process, which helps you configure the execution environment. With Site24x7's integration, you can easily route the logs and metrics obtained from the Lambda function into AppLogs to gain real-time visibility.
Site 24x7-Lambda Extension is available for all regions and it supports x86 architecture for Lambda functions.
Why integrate Lambda Extensions with Site24x7?
- Lower costs by receiving logs and metrics directly from the Lambda function rather than from CloudWatch Logs. Previously, you'd need an additional Lambda function and CloudWatch logs to fetch logs from a Lambda ecosystem. Now you can avoid both overheads since the logs and metrics are fetched from Telemetry API of the Lambda function and pushed to Site24x7.
- Easily fetch error logs and metrics, and capture diagnostic information after a function invocation.
Site24x7 already supports logs using Lambda Extension and Logs API. Upgrade to our latest Site24x7 Lambda Extension version to obtain new platform events that are not available for the logs API, and gain better visibility into your Lambda function life cycle. With the latest version, you can also receive metrics for each platform events such as init, invoke, and runtime.
To upgrade, you can either build your own layer, or integrate the container using the extension ZIP file we provide. Refer to our help documentation to start using the Lambda Extensions integration right away.

Best,
The Site24x7 Team
