Schedule IT Automation
In addition to automating repetitive manual tasks with our exclusive set of IT Automation tools, you can also schedule the automation(s) to take place one after the other when an incident takes place.
If you haven't added an IT automation yet, add one and then add a schedule monitor.
Add a Schedule IT Automation Monitor
- Log in to Site24x7 and go to Admin > IT Automation Templates > Schedule IT Automation. You can also navigate via Server > Schedule IT Automation (+).
- Provide a Display Name for identification purposes.
- Choose an existing IT Automation Template from the drop-down.
- Configure the Execution Frequency in the following format.
- When the selected frequency is Once:
- Start Time: Choose the time at which you want to initiate the scheduled IT automation.
- End Time: Choose the time at which you want to end the scheduled the IT automation.
- When the selected frequency is Daily: You can use this option to schedule the IT automation on a day-to-day basis.
- Start Time: Choose the time at which you want to initiate the scheduled IT automation.
- End Time: Choose the time at which you want to end the scheduled the IT automation.
- When the selected frequency is Weekly:
- Set Recurrence: Choose the day or time the IT automation should occur each week.
- By Day:
- Day(s): Choose the day(s) the automation should run.
- All Day: Enable this check box to schedule automation for the whole day.
- Start Time: Set the corresponding start time for your automation.
- By Time:
- All Day: Enable this check box to schedule the automation for the whole day.
- Start Time: Set the corresponding start time for your automation.
- End Time: Set the corresponding end time for your automation.
- When the selected frequency is Monthly:
- Set Recurrence: Specify when you want your automation window to reoccur every month. You can choose By Day or By Date.
- If you've set the recurrence By Date, then you must populate the following fields:
- Start Date: Pick the date when you want your automation to recur every month.
- All Day: Enable this check box to schedule automation for the whole day.
- Start Time: Enable this check box to schedule automation for the whole day.
- If you've set the recurrence By Day, then provide information in the following fields:
- Start Week: Pick the Nth weekday of the month when you want your automation to reoccur, i.e., the second Wednesday of every month. You can also choose Last to schedule the automation for the last week of the month. For instance, if you choose Last Thursday and the month has five weeks that end on a Wednesday, then automation will be scheduled for the Thursday of the fourth week.
- All Day: Enable this check box to schedule automation for the whole day.
- Start Time: Specify the exact time at which you'd like the automation to reoccur.
- When the selected frequency is Once:
- Mention the Start Time for the schedule in the format hh:mm.
- Enter a Time-out period for your execution, representing the maximum time period the agent has to wait for the automation execution to complete. Post that, there will be a time-out error. The time-out is applicable for the entire monitor, not for each automation added for schedule.
Note
The time-out is set at 10 minutes, by default. You can define a time-out between 5-720 minutes.
- Under Configuration Profiles, add new or choose existing User Alert Group and Tags. Save your changes.
Once the monitor is added, you will be able to see it under Server > Schedule IT Automation. Click on the added monitor to view logs specific to that monitor, outages, and inventory details.
